Oceanna Dykes, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA), was born and raised in Owensboro, Kentucky. In 2024, she relocated to Bowling Green to pursue her passion for supporting youth and families in their mental health journeys. In 2026, she earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Kentucky University.
At K&G, Oceanna works with children and adolescents ages 6 and up, including those navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as others facing behavioral, social, or emotional challenges. Her work is rooted in creating individualized care plans that meet each client’s specific needs.
Oceanna has over five years of experience working with youth in both educational and mental health settings. She earned her undergraduate degree in Music Education from Kentucky State University in 2021 and went on to teach music and theater at a rural middle school. During her time in education, she discovered a deep passion for supporting youth beyond the classroom. This realization led her to transition into mental health, where she began working in an inpatient boys’ home and volunteering with local nonprofits dedicated to breaking generational cycles for youth.
Oceanna is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to every individual she serves. She believes that healing happens in safe, supportive relationships and strives to create a therapeutic space where clients feel empowered to grow, build resilience, and move toward the life they envision.
Oceanna’s primary therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Expressive Arts Therapy.
K&G COUNSELING REVIEWS
Oceanna’s background in education and the arts really shines through in her compassionate, creative approach to therapy. She built a safe, supportive relationship with my child that made navigating difficult behavioral challenges feel much less overwhelming. Her use of expressive arts and CBT helped us find unique ways to heal and build resilience as a family.
